Researched, photographed, and worked with the writer Kaz Tannahashi on text and poetry for LOTUS. A book of fine art photos with poems and text that tells how the sacred lotus is used in Buddhist teachings.

Designed, contracted, and hand built a house with a pond over looking rolling dairy farmland.

For the last few years now I have been creating fine art photography portfolios. The series that has the most inventory are my Botanical prints. These are sepia toned black and white photos done with a large camera. It is the act of experiencing fully what I am photographing that is satisfying and at the same time stimulating. How blessed I feel to create exposures on film that seduce my heart, while allowing my curiosity to lead me to places and subjects that I would not have known otherwise. Photography takes on a special significance when there is a mystery of uncertainty involved in the image. An edge of chaos, unpredictable and ambiguous, keeps images from being boring. If this work only confirms what we know, then there is nothing to compel us to be curious. Courting the unexpected in art has an adrenaline rush that is both vulnerable and captivating. Once in the form of a print, these fleeting moments can be shared with other people. the clear realities of nature seen with the inner eye of the spirit reveal the essence of my soul. I think that my relationship to our world is discribed well by a native American when he said:
The earth does not belong to us;
We belong to the earth.
ALL THINGS ARE CONNECTED.
What befalls the earth
Befalls the people of the eaarth…
We did not weave the web of life.
We are merely a strand in it.
